Ayr United and Birmingham met twice during season 1974/75 in the 1st round of the Texaco Cup. The match at St Andrews, Birmingham on 17th September 1974 ended in a dismal 3-0 defeat for Ayr with United showing no signs of overcoming their Midlands opponants.
The return match on 2nd October wasn't any better for Ayr who never looked like overturning the first match defeat. The 0-0 draw meant that United had not scored a single goal against the Blues in two games. | Away 1974 Match |
