Ayr played Dutch side Concarneau in the second match of their three gane St Lorient Festival campaign on 2nd August 1973. Johnny Graham and Alex 'Dixie' Ingram scored the goals in Ayr's 2-1 win.
The win set United up with a final match against Cork three days later.
