Smith set for debut
Ayr will give a debut to goalkeeper Graeme Smith when bottom club Albion visit.
The 30-year-old, who has spent time at Partick this season, joined on a short-term deal.
Recent signing Liam Buchanan will be missing for the Honest Men after being sent off against Alloa last weekend.
John Robertson's ankle injury keeps him out and Michael McGowan and Martyn Campbell are still absent with knee injuries.
Player-manager Mark Roberts said: "We have a point to prove against Albion Rovers as losing to them on Boxing Day was the low point of our season.
"It was a terrible performance from us but we have the chance to put some of that right in this game."M
Albion include trialist strikers Scott Sally and Robbie Winters for a second week running as they look to secure a second win in a row over Ayr.
The Coatbridge side also have Alan Reid and Barry Russell available after suspension, but manager Todd Lumsden has delayed naming his team as Steven Howarth (hip), Chris Dallas (calf) and David Crawford (thigh) are struggling.
Lumsden said: "We can go to Somerset Park with some confidence as we won the last meeting between the sides and played really well down there before losing to a last-minute penalty.
"We may well be at the bottom but are still playing well. If we start taking the chances we are creating then we will start winning games."
