Ayr V Brechin at Somerset Park - Match Preview

Kyle on bench again

Ayr will include former Scotland striker Kevin Kyle as a trialist on their bench for a second game against Brechin.

The Honest Men miss Gordon Pope and Alan Forrest through suspension with Martyn Campbell sitting out through a calf injury.

Player-manager Mark Roberts said: "Kevin is a terrific option to have especially against a very good Brechin side.

"They have the strongest squad in this division with the exception of Rangers so we will need to be at the top of our game to win. We need a win as too many of our games have been draws so far."

City, who have ruled out Derek Carcary through a hamstring problem and have skipper Ewan Moyes doubtful due to a knee injury, are looking to keep a tight hold on Ayr's strikeforce of Craig Malcolm and Michael Moffat at Somerset Park.

Manager Ray McKinnon said: "Ayr's two strikers are really good players and they will need to be kept in check all afternoon. If we allow them to find space in our defence we will end up in trouble so we have come up with a plan to keep them quiet.

"Our players will need to show resilience at a tough venue to win."
