Ayr V Forfar at Somerset Park - Match Preview

Trio absent once more

Ayr United remain without their three long-term injured players against visitors Forfar.

John Robertson is still out with an ankle injury, while Martyn Campbell and Michael McGowan remaining absent due to knee problems.

Somerset Park boss Mark Roberts is asking his men to ensure that they do not end a game empty handed for a second time in four days.

He said: "We lost to Brechin 2-1 on Tuesday and the players deserved better. Hopefully if they put in the same effort and commitment against Forfar they will get what they deserve.

"We have a bit of experience and confidence in our squad now and this game gives us a chance of getting into the pack of clubs chasing a play-off place. I want us to take it."

Forfar look for their fourth win of the season over Ayr without Odmar Faero

The defender is at a training camp in Thailand with the Faroese national side.

Keith Gibson remains out long-term with a knee injury.

Station Park boss Dick Campbell said: "Despite losing to Alloa last week we have kept control of fourth place by virtue of scoring more goals than Arbroath.

"Now everything is in our own hands regarding the play-offs and a win at Ayr will help keep things that way.

"We have beaten them three times but they have changed their squad about and brought in a good few experienced guys so that counts for little. In fact it probably makes them all the more determined to beat us."
