Ayr V Stranraer at Somerset Park - Match Preview

Sinclair back for revenge mission

Ayr welcome back goal-grabbing midfielder David Sinclair after an ankle injury as they look for revenge over south-west rivals Stranraer for a 2-0 defeat at Stair Park earlier in the season.

Sinclair's return has been welcomed by Somerset Park manager Mark Roberts, who has ruled out the injured John Robertson, Martyn Campbell, Darren Brownlie, Anthony Marenghi and Michael McGowan.

Roberts said: "The defeat from Stranraer was undoubtedly our lowest point this season. We tried a few things that day that simply never came off and paid a sore price.

"We want to put that right by winning this game with a bit of style but it will not be easy as they have done well under their new manager Stephen Aitken and picked up some good results."

Stranraer travel with midfielder Chris Aitken unable to play against one of his former sides due to a leg injury.

Another one-time Honest Man Ryan Borris remains out with a thigh problem, however French striker Armand One is included as a trialist for the second time by the Blues.

Aitken said: "Ayr will be really pumped up to beat us after the result in the first game so we have to be ready for that.

"We have had good performances against Forfar and Queen's Park in our recent games so we are travelling with a bit of confidence.

"We are trying to get some positive momentum behind us and taking something from this game would certainly help us achieve that."
