The club thanked 'all those who have contributed to bringing these ambitious proposals to the planning stages and look forward to a positive outcome that will create for the town of Ayr and the wider community of Ayrshire a new stadium with first class sports facilities, including a state of the art indoor training, sports injury and fitness facility, which we believe is the first of it's kind in South West Scotland'.
Last month the Ayr United Chariman Lachlan Cameron met with the SFA to push United's case as the time taken for South Ayrshire Council to consider the plans passed the one year mark.
The Council have a long history of denying the club planning permissions or, as in the case a few years previously under the former Club owner Bill Barr, impose unrealistic conditions on the club. When the club did receive a positive response from ther council after concerted pressure was brought to bear by Unted fan's, the planning application was called in by the then Labour Government in Scotland.
In thanking those who have helped to bring these plans to the planning group table, the club may be hinting at behind the scenes efforts of the local SNP councillor and the SFA.
The club have confirmed that they will await the outcome of the 31st January meeting before announcing any details of the proposal.
It view of previous disapointments at the hands of the Council it is not surprising that the club have waited.
