United's first ever league match at Gretna comes on Saturday 27th August and at Peterhead on hogmaney 2005. Many will see the matches with Gretna, who have done superbly well since joining the league, as a local derby. The two clubs meet again in the New Year 'derby' at Ryedale on 2nd January.
Astonishingly FOUR of Ayr's last five leage matches are away from home which be significant if United are fighting relegation or, more positively, for promotion, particularly when it is remembered that the new system of play off's come into operation this season.
