Lochee's Thomson Park was inspected on Saturday morning (6th December) at 8.30am and found to be frozen and unplayable.
Consequently the match is OFF.
Lochee United with the agreement of Ayr United and the SFA had agreed that Lochee's Thomson Park would be inspected on Saturday morning at 8.30am and if the pitch wasa found to be unplayable the clubs will try again on Sunday 7th December with a 1.45 kick off.
Lochee were confident that, with the weather forecast improving by the day the game will go ahead this weekend.
A club statement said that "Lochee United have promised to do everything possible to have the game played on Saturday but if this fails both clubs agree that Sunday is the best alternative for all concerned."
Another pitch inspection is shceduled for Sunday 8.30am and everyone hopes that it can go ahead then.
For Ayr there is a lot at stake, not least an entincing Ayrshire derby at home to Kilmarnock should they overcome the non-league side.
