For division 2, the champions will be promoted as of right, but the 2nd and 3rd placed teams will play in a semi-final and the winners will play off with the winners of the 4th placed team in Div 2 and the 9th placed team in division 1.

Honestman believes that it is not before time that play off's have come to Scotland as it has been proved in England that it helps to keep the season alive for more clubs longer into the season.
