- We have added some features which we hope will recognise the history of Somerset Park and this great club and be popular with those particularly who follow Ayr United but also other football fans
- The programme cover indicates that Somerset Park opened in 1888 and will close in 2009.
- Each programme will have an individual match number- Raith Rovers on the 2nd. of Aug. will be number one through to the last scheduled league match against Alloa Athletic on May 2nd 2009 which will be number 18. The first of any additional cup ties or play offs at Somerset Park will commence at number 19.
- Each programme will celebrate an individual/s who have made a significant contribution to the history of Somerset park / Ayr United.
Their picture will feature on the front cover and an article inside will relate their part in the history of football here at Somerset Park, Ayr. - We will also include a page of "somerset memories", to include contributions from fans or current/ex players, managers, officials etc. to relate their most memorable day at Somerset park. It could be your best or worst match, favourite player, finest goal, shocking miss, or it could be something more personal, like your first ever match, or maybe you got engaged or married at Somerset park. If you have a somerset memory and would like to share it, please let us know.
- We will publish the best, and if there are stories which we cannot include through a shortage of space, we will add them to the ones included in the programme and create a catalogue or book of Somerset Memories to be released after the closure of Somerset Park.
- We would ask that between 25-75 words are used, more if the story dictates (articles may be subject to editing from programme editor). To contribute to the final season programmes write to the club or e.mail memories.somersetpark@hotmail.com
