Rory McAllister scored his 19th league goal of the season as Brechin cemented their play-off place with a 1-0 win over Ayr.
Great work down the right from Neil Janczyk ended with his cross being headed in by McAllister, who gave the keeper no chance as his effort flew into the top-right of the goal.
Brechin's Ewan Moyes then wasted a golden opportunity to double the advantage as he put his effort over the crossbar from six yards following good work down the right from Mitchell Megginson.
Ayr's best effort fell to David Crawford as he fired inches over from 18 yards.
In the second half, McAllister and Janczyk both went close as Brechin looked to put the result beyond doubt.
The win puts Brechin into the play-off places as they look to gain promotion to League One.
